So we all proposed a book for the next time and then voted.

The book chosen was Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. (a proper serious book).

Our second book club meeting is going to be held at WABI SABI- in via Romana at 8:30pm this Wednesday March 5th. The book is THE COMMONER.. if you are planning on attending please write to me at clinton.healey@gmail.com so I will reserve for the correct number of persons....see you there.

Movies Anyone?

I was thinking that this month "strangely" there are lots of decent flicks playing in English at the Odeon and was wondering if anyone would like to join me one night for dinner and a movie (or maybe aperi-cena and a movie). I am particularly interested in seeing Charles Wilson's War which is on next Monday and Tuesday, but there may be others who want to see something else. In any event- if anyone wants to see a movie send in a comment and we can set up some movie dates for any of you out there who are "dying to see a movie in English".

Second Meeting....

The group has decided that we will meet on the 1st Wednesday of every month- the next meeting will be a the new location of WABI SABI near Porta Romana and the book is The Commoner by John Burnham Schwartz (picked by Jaimi Biagi)

Just want to thank everyone for attending the first meeting of the Bitch & Wine Florence Book Club. The gathering was complete success.. and thank you to Melanie for picking Santo Bevitore- excellent restaurant with very decent prices. My steak tartare was very pleasing despite is "alpo like" demeanor. All in all - good food, good wine, good company and good discussion.
